Episode summary
This season opener picks up more or less where the previous season left off. Having lost his job, and a pile of money keeping Stockwell away from the mayoral position, Brian finds himself falling on hard times financially, though he refuses to admit it. Though he is offered his old job back, Brian passes because of a contractual obligation that would force him not to work for a competitor. When Brian tries to start his own agency (lovingly named "Kinnetic" by Justin,) all his clients turn him down, forcing him to accept donations from a fund raising put together by his friends.

Fun and views reviews
Loved the continuing development of Brian's character in this episode - Brian acts as the lifeblood of this series and he never fails it. Interesting inclusion of Hunter into the family and that last scene in the episode... I wonder what its implications will be. Looking forward to the rest of season 4!

Episode summary
Brian achieves success, as the headquarters for Kinnetik are finally set up and ready to go. However, Brian runs into a dilemma when he receives news that the funds for a client's ad in Heat Magazine have yet to obtained; Brian worries about getting the payment in by the deadline and enlists the last minute help of Ted, who solves this problem with ease and total efficiency. Thinking he could use this kind of help at the agency, Brian offers Ted a position; Ted, just beginning his new life, feels he is not ready and declines.

Fun and views reviews
Loved yet hated this episode because of the dark direction Justin's storyline is taking. I enjoyed the family dynamic with Ben, Michael, Hunter, and Deb while I'm curious to see which path Ted takes in the future. Overall a solid episode, season four isn't shaping up to be too bad.

Episode summary
Cody decides to take Justin to a firing range; while they are there, Justin tells Cody the story of Chris Hobbs and the incident surrounding Brian, himself and the assault. Cody shocks and surprises him by bringing him to the construction site where Chris Hobbs works so that Justin has the chance to confront him about what he did. Justin, however, feels unprepared, and backs down. Convinced that Justin has to confront Chris Hobbs for what he put him through, they go to his house, where Justin demands an apology.

Fun and views reviews
Contrary to what other people have stated, I loved everything about this episode - I won't spoil much, but the writers were smart in letting certain characters make the choices they did. Overall a sensational episode with enough closure to be ultimately satisfying.

Episode summary
Michael and Justin receive a letter from a famous action film director by the name of Brett Keller, who is interested in turning "Rage" into a live-action feature film! Michael and Hunter are thrilled, but Ben is less than enthusiastic, stating that he's not interested in Brett Keller's "world of mindless entertainment". Justin and Michael, however, decide they'll consider Keller's offer, but Justin has second thoughts when Ben tells him that once Keller owns the rights to "Rage", he could do whatever he pleases, including making Rage a straight character.

Fun and views reviews
This episode has so much angst and it really makes you feel emotion - all of these conflicts move the characters forward in the best possible way. Season four isn't hesitating to make viewers cringe and cry and collapse... what will happen next?

Episode summary
Brian is diagnosed with testicular cancer. The prognosis, however, is good; once the afflicted testicle is removed he'll have a 99% chance of survival. Brian is also warned that if he opts not to have surgery, the cancer will spread. Brian decides to keep the news to himself and begins to push everybody away-including Justin.

Fun and views reviews
This show gets more and more emotional as the characters' fates are worsened and their struggles solidify. Every character interaction had meaning and as much as I hate to see these characters so sad, it's necessary for them to grow. Perfect show is perfect.

Episode summary
Brian returns from the hospital but leads everyone to believe he'd been in Ibiza. Justin discovers the truth when he overhears a message for Brian from the hospital's oncology department. He asks Michael if he knows anything about it, but Michael is just as shocked as Justin. Knowing that if Brian wanted anyone to know he would've told them, they decide to keep Brian's secret to themselves. Michael, however, later admits to Brian that he knows about his testicular cancer and that Justin is the one who told him.

Fun and views reviews
The pathos in this episode crushed me - Deb and Brian's story lines are so well-written and executed, it's painful in the best way. It's nice to see Ted back on his feet and Lindsay finding her art again, but if Brian and Justin don't work out... well, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Episode summary
Justin is furious with Michael for breaking their agreement and telling Brian that they know he's sick. Brian has thrown Justin out and doesn't want to see him again; Justin is at first fine with this decision, but when Justin finds out that it's because Brian doesn't want him to see him sick, Justin goes to the loft to take care of him. Justin plans to stand by Brian and their commitment.

Fun and views reviews
Loved the development of Brian's character in this episode and his relationship with Justin. I see issues arising involving Ben and Lindsay but hopefully their story lines will work out - overall such a strong episode and this show gets better and better, even after several seasons.

Episode summary
Brian and Justin are wrapped up in the heat of their passion when Brian has a flashback of his surgery. Needless to say, it changes the mood and Brian's passion is easily cooled. Brian finds his frustration and confusion growing after the incident, especially when his mother, Joan, pays him a visit after Debbie tells her about his illness. Her visit with Brian escalates into a heated argument, but his fury somehow gets Brian back into the groove he was looking to find.

Fun and views reviews
For some reason season four is getting me really emotional - all of the story lines in this episode amazed me except one of them. Brian and Justin try to help Brian get it back up, Ben and Michael fall further apart, Drew and Emmett have an interesting relationship, and Lindsay encounters difficulties with Sam. Looking forward to seeing what happens next for all of them!

Episode summary
The Center has hired top fund-raiser, Jeffrey Pendergrass, to help them raise money for the 2004 Liberty Ride. The proceeds will benefit Liberty House Hospice, which is currently in danger of shutting down. After seeing money being spent frivolously at the lavish kick-off party, Brian grows skeptical of Pendergass' motives. Realizing Pendergass seems to be the only one benefiting from the proceeds, Brian does some investigative work. When Brian reveals to Pendergass that he's discovered his questionable history with other fund-raising organizations, the top fund-raiser leaves town-claiming the money raised thus far in Pittsburgh will cover his expenses--barely, leaving nothing for the hospice.

Fun and views reviews
A sweet episode that pertains to sexuality in regard to several of the scenarios presented. Hunter has a special friend, Lindsay struggles to choose, Debbie tries to win Carl back, and Emmett falls out with Drew. This is an episode that is worth discussing and I'm waiting for the opportunity to do so.

Episode summary
Brian's oncologist gives him a clean bill of health but insists that he take it easy. However, in an attempt to repair the devastation of the fund-raiser Jeffrey Pendergrass left in his wake, Brian decides to obtain Remson Pharmaceuticals' sponsorship (in the amount of $100,000) to participate in the Liberty Ride. Against his concerned friends' wishes, Brian starts to train for the Ride but quickly becomes exhausted and has trouble keeping up with the others in his spin class.

Fun and views reviews
This episode consisted mostly of plot development and conflict within the characters' relationships. Mel and Linds struggle through what Lindsay's done, Brian is spurred on to do the Liberty Ride, Hunter faces issues when he tells a girl he's HIV positive, and Emmett has to decide what to do about Drew. Overall a great episode and it's building up to the season finale!

Episode summary
Michael, Ben, Hunter, Ted, and Justin are preparing for the Liberty Ride. Justin is surprised to find Brian has been secretly training in order to go with them. Justin supports him and is very proud and excited that they'll be riding together. However, Justin is ultimately the one who will have to bow out when Brett Keller requests that he fly to Hollywood to help him pitch Rage to the execs of the studio.

Fun and views reviews
When two people are in love they get married, these are pretty much Michael\'s words and that seems to be the overall theme of the evening. After Carl and Debbie get engaged Ben is reinspired, he was planning to do it already, to propose himself. He really catches Michael off guard with this and leaves him in quite an uncertain place but after some consideration of realization he accepts!!!

Episode summary
Michael throws a surprise 10th anniversary party for Melanie and Lindsay, but the evening doesn't quite turn out as planned. Justin's stay in Hollywood is extended, in turn affecting his relationship with Brian. At Ted's suggestion, Brian invests his Kinnetik profits in a new venture, and Carl agrees to move back into Debbie's house for the time being.

Fun and views reviews
For some reason I always love the season premieres of Queer as Folk - they introduce developing conflicts nicely, leave room for character complexity, and push in new plot lines. I'm so sad that this is my last season but I'm extremely excited to see where the writers take this show in its penultimate season!

Episode summary
Brian and Michael grow further apart as both of them find their priorities of life differ. Things look set to change for good as Debbie makes the choice to finally retire and pass the torch over to a newcomer.

Fun and views reviews
The main conflict of this episode was between Lindsay, Michael, and Melanie - personally, I'm rooting for Lindsay with Melanie as a close second and Michael as a far third. The rest of the episode was sweet too, with Brian's amazing quote to Justin and Deb's new waitress. Looking forward to the next one!

Episode summary
Brian's beliefs regarding marriage haven't changed. Debbie has difficulty adjusting to retirement, and Ted decides to make some drastic changes in his life after feeling he has become stuck in a rut. In the meantime, a bigger gap starts to appear in Brian and Justin's relationship.

Fun and views reviews
The conflict and escalating tension in this episode was lovely! I felt so bad for Hunter and squealed at the Brian and Justin shower scene. Melanie and Lindsay's relationship remains consistent to their characters and Den and her protege's actions inspired me. Queer as Folk is a wonderful show and I am not ready to let it go.

Episode summary
Brian has some news for Justin and all of his previous partners. Carl has a rival for Debbie's affection and Hunter makes a drastic decision that could change everything.

Fun and views reviews
I love that Brian has values and principles, and that he sticks to them. But there is a time when he needs to give just a little. You know that he wants to be with Justin very much, but he would rather jeoparodize his relationship than bend the principles. After getting syphilis, Brian tosses it off as if it's nothing. Justin's irritation with his promiscuity, continues to build, and we don't know how much longer he can take it. After 48 hours, the syphilis clears up, so Brian races home to celebrate it with Justin. But when he gets there, he sees a less than enthusiastic Sunshine, that would rather work on Rage, than go to bed with him.
Wake up, Brian!! Wake up!!

Fun and views reviews
The two positives in this episode: Deb getting her job back and Lindsay and Melanie starting to make up. However, the Hunter storyline and the Britin angst are breaking my heart - I hope everything works out by the end of the series, or I will sob myself to death! Great development of characters and conflict.

Justin decides to leave the loft which creates a rift between Michael and Brian. Ted struggles to exact his plan of revenge while Lindsey and Gus move back to her parents.

Fun and views reviews
I agree with my other reviewers here - fabulous acting by Gale Harold and the others in this episode. Ben and Michael's first conversation about Hunter gnawed at my heart and Brian's drunken stupor clash with Michael tore me apart. The angst is so painful but at the same time I love watching it. Can't wait for the next episode.
